Health writer and Commentator, Roy Lilley has branded the body responsible for regulating the NHS a “basket case” after Health Secretary Wes Street said that it was “not fit for purpose” earlier today.
A review found inspectors from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) lacked experience – some had never been into a hospital before, while some care home inspectors had never met a person with dementia.
Wes Streeting said he was “stunned” by the scale of the problems as he announced a set of emergency measures.
Speaking to GB News Lilley said: “There is about £230 million that has been sucked out of the frontline of healthcare, for what purpose?”
